I am happy to present to you my 6th new design for 2013, yet unnamed. I loved the colors on the Over The Rainbow egg so much that I wanted to do them again in a different layout and instead chose the layout that I used for the Ring Around The Rosie egg. I haven't come up with a name for the egg, but then I thought it would be nice to let the winning bidder decide!

I think that the combination turned out wonderfully. I absolutely love the bright, moss green of this egg, together with the rich red flowers and bright white stars, bordered by light lavender.

This beautiful batik egg was lovingly created in the traditional method of Pysanky, using a batik wax and dye process on a real blown turkey egg. Sealed with a coat of archival, industrial grade UV resistant, crystal clear finish, it's finished size measures approximately 3 1/4" tall.

The process begins by meticulously drawing out the design in pencil before it goes through a process of waxing and dyeing. Etching technique is used to create the raised borders and create a subtle three dimensional effect and the blended colors were created using a shading technique inspired by my friend Mark Malachowski. As with all my eggs, yours will come with a FREE lacquered, dark wooden stand and digital COA (Certificate of Authenticity) that allows you to register your piece in an online art database.
