Art: Isfahan 9th Installment Persian Rug Series by Artist So Jeo LeBlond
This beautiful Pysanka was made by myself in the traditional batik wax and dye process on a real blown turkey egg, which is sealed with a coat of archival, industrial grade UV resistant, crystal clear finish. It measures approximately 4 inches tall.

The process begins by meticulously drawning the design out in pencil before it goes through a process of waxing and dyeing. Etching technique is used to create the raised borders and create a three dimensional effect.

This design is entitled "Isfahan", inspired by the gorgeous rugs from Western Iran. It features 2 central medallions surrounded by a multitude of colorful flowers and delicate tendrils in rich golds, bright greens, reds and periwinkle blues set against a black background.

"Isfahan" is the 9th egg to be released in the Persian Rug series and the 3rd original design that I have released to the public for 2010.
