Art: Furry Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Morgan by Artist Camille Meeker Turner
This is the first furred Corgi that I've done myself from start to finish, there will be a lot of firsts for me in the next several months as I work on different breeds. I began with a Corgi because they're my favorite (just ask Chloe Belle, she'll tell you : ). I've given this one the name Morgan borrowed from my friend Wendy's herd of Corgi's who she tragically left behind recently. It seemed a good way to continue to honor her memory. This was first carefully sculpted in polymer clay with wire reinforced legs, it was cured then tiny details painted and glossed. I used a blend of alpaca/merino/silk which I dyed myself in two different apricot colors thus creating the shades needed for the coat without any heavy use of pastels, I also further added a level of lighter tones by adding a mix of white merino tensil to the apricot shades. I did however use a tiny bit of pastel to bring out the detail in the face but not enough to worry about transferring to your dollhouse scenes or coming off with handling. This is dollhouse scale, it will arrive with a signed, dated and numbered certificate of authenticity that may be verified through the ebsq site. This would make a great addition to your original dollhouse or Corgi collection, it might also make a wonderful Christmas present for a friend or family member!
