"A tall 'pink foxglove' nods on its slender stalk. Each dainty bell invites bees and humming birds to partake of the generous nectar."
Artist comment: "Foxgloves, to me, speak warm summer days, going barefoot on dusty gravel country roads. Although they are gorgeous in bouquets, there is not need to pick them and bring them inside. They are so plentiful and long-lasting that everywhere you look you have a 'bouquet'. This painting is one of a trilogy of foxglove stems as I recall from my girlhood. Pink is the most common, so I began there. The piece is watercolor on 140# Arches hot-pressed paper. I washed the background in first, taking care to leave the subject untouched. Then I carefully detailed each blossom from top to bottom."
