My friends Ginger and Jim Nelson own Olde English Garden Shoppe in Excelsior Springs, an outgrowth of their love of gardening and European art and antiques. (They live in a beautiful old Tudor-style house!) The garden at the shop is a marvelous place to paint, intimate and challenging. This August I decided to try gouache instead of my usual watercolor, there, to go along with the English watercolorists' love of that medium. It was great fun!
