"After working hard for many years, the tugboat Earnest is docked at her home base for a well earned rest.
Artist comment: "On the Columbia River in Astoria, Oregon, the 1942 tugboat Earnest lies tied up alongside her dock. The afternoon sun warms the sky beyond the Astoria-Megler bridge. I found it fascinating to see the colors of the tug match the building on the left. She indeed seems at home and at rest. Pastel was a natural choice for this painting as the colors are soft and mellow, conveying the mood of rest.
