Artist comment -- My most recent passion is to paint marine scenes with pastel. This includes the boats and harbors, as well as the shore birds that dominate the area. This painting of the CGC Alert was a delight to render. Her vivid white glows in the gleaming sunlight. First I focused on the blues and greens that set off the boat, then carefully painted the details of the Alert.This image is available as a limited edition giclee print on paper and canvas from an original painting by Carol Thompson.
