"The weather is about to change when you see a 'thunderhead over the sea'."
Artist comment: "Thunderheads are a fascinating weather phenomenon. When seen far out over the ocean, one can almost feel the power and majesty of the storm under its towering mass. In this oil painting on canvas, I show that majestic formation as it is already kicking up high surf coming onto shore! I chose to place the thunderhead on one third of the scene and balance it with the rising translucent wave. The 'Z' format of the painting carries your eye through the composition from the thin clouds to the thunderhead, back to the tip of the wave, along its edge, etc. to the foreground (and back again)."
