"Along the Pacific Northwest Coast, one sees looming monoliths such as this 'sunset stack'."
Artist comment: "This is a small oil painting on stretched canvas. Although only 10" X 12", all the components of a large piece are here. I sketched an interesting cloud pattern and off-set the rock to allow for the waves and the reflection of the sky and clouds. The rock was done with a palette knife. As a finishing touch I painted the trees, then the blue on the darker elements."
