"Patches of 'summer clouds' linger as the sun rises higher on the Pacific northwest coastal sea."
Artist comment: "You can almost feel the warm sunshine on your back as you gaze out across the sea. In this oil painting on canvas, I began with a sketch of one major wave. I chose colors that would convey the soft gentle feel of summer. Calling on my memories of such days, I painted the scene, focusing on the light translucent water at the top of the wave. Then I painted the foreground water with its 'holes' that so frequently occur near the sandy shore."
