"'Seagulls' at sunset' float easily above a large rugged rock that will be their nesting place for the night."
Artist comment: "I love to paint the sea's many moods and that means seeking the colors that it captures at varying times of the day. As the sun drops toward the horizon, the sky loses it's deep blue and the sea reflects the change. The jagged rocks catch last rays of gold. While painting this oil on canvas, I kept in mind the principal of opposing colors giving the scene a dramatic effect. I painted sky and water first, then with a palette knife, I painted the rocks. The birds were painted when the background was dry. Finally I painted the run-off and foam patterns on the translucent wave."
