Art: Ferry Approaching At Alki Point by Artist Carol Thompson

"The sun is lowering in the sky, causing the Alki Point lighthouse to glow with pastel colors. A ferry in the distance is completing its latest run."

Artist comment:  "The lighthouse at Alki Point has been my subject for a series of paintings in oil, pastel, watercolor and gouache. In this scene, I accented the soft afternoon clouds and white tower of the lighthouse. The overall feeling is one of warmth and intimacy. I wanted to give the feeling of welcome with the gravel yard surrounded by the confinement of its piling posts."
