This piece is just fun to look at. Using a light globe as the substrate. I applied heat set/thermal paints to the globe then adhered tempered glass using a resin adhesive.
To spice this up a bit, I have a miniature flashing light inside, which is held in place by a magnet. The magnet was adhered to the outside of the globe and then grouted over.
I found a cut glass hoop in a used building materials store and applied cut acrylic gems for "feet".
The glass hoop made me think of Saturn's rings, which is why I call this "Planet Ball".
