This is one of a series of bottles I am working with. I have long liked old bottles and pictured this one has holding the old rememdy "Mother's Helper". Only I updated it slightly with what the contents would hold today.
I recently curated a show for the Institute of Mosaic Art in Oakland, CA. A woman there made three charming bottles with mosaic mixed media. Although my pieces look nothing like hers, I like to say I took some inspiration from her work.
This piece was made with a heart shaped bottle which I adhered with stained, irridescent and mirror glass. The words "Mother's Helper "are on one side the other side has "Ritalin". The stopper has an angelic face on top. For grout I used white grout with a blue colorant.
