- Love Potion 9 sold
I have long held a fascination with glass bottles. I recently curated a show for the Institute of Mosaic Art in Oakland, CA. A woman there made three charming bottles with mosaic mixed media and I took some inspiration from her work. Additional inspiration comes from the movie "Love Potion Number 9" with Tate Donovan and Sandra Bullock. That movie just tickles me. And of course who could forget the song by The Clovers.
This piece was made with a heart shaped bottle which I painted with transparent Pebeo thermal hardening glass paints. Then I applied the words "Love Potion #9" in black stained glass. Next I applied porcelain wings from an angel statute and tempered glass using silicone ahdesive. The stopper has a resin cherub type figure. For grout I used white grout with a red colorant.
