This was an intensive direct mosaic piece that I build on a manequin bust. The hat was a real straw hat too and it has a vase appendage to hold a live stem. While I was creating this, the form was omnipresent for several weeks and she kinda took on her own tone towards family and friends. We started jokingly talking to her, telling her to 'quit staring bitch,' etc. She was terribly stoic, and her tone was cold. And still I find her lovely...
