This is the third pin in the Comet Series, pieces combining Keum Boo, dichromatic glass and precious metals. The top piece has 24 kt.gold foil applied to fine silver. It was then formed lightly and tumbled in steel shot to burnish it. That is what gives it its luster. The center piece is fine silver and has a central gem of dichromatic glass in a setting of gallery wire. the bottom drop has a cabachon garnet and is flanked by two natural diamonds. The inspiration for the series combines medieval representations of comets as well as the contemporary representations of flames used in pop culture.
