Art: Goat by Artist Camille Meeker Turner

So It's been awhile since I've been able to complete a project. Three weeks ago I fell outside in my yard after dark and broke my leg in several places and after a stint in the hospital, a brand new titanium rod in my leg and moving into skilled nursing for the long haul, I'm finally settling in and getting back to work. I have a few kinks to work out as far as non disruption of my productive process but am confident that I'll get myself back into a routine I'll be comfortable with! I had this little goat in the works when I had my accident and finally put the finishing touches on him this morning. I first carefully sculpted him in polymer clay, painted the overall sculpture in acrylics then applied the white bamboo fiber one thin layer at a time. The bamboo requires a lot of detailed trimming to give him a realistic appearance. I made the eyes in a separate process and cured them into the sculpture. The new owner will receive an original digitally signed certificate of authenticity. I'm running a bit behind in sending the certificates out but now have all I need to get the entire job done. My sweet service dog "Arlo" has transitioned into skilled care with me and is busy learning some new tasks to make my life easier. My precious Dozer had to be re-homed but I found a perfect family for him and they will bring him to visit! I'm so thankful to be able to continue my artwork as I let my life transition into a new normal
