Autumn Symphony #3

The colors in this piece remind me of Autumn, and the lines remind me of music, hence the title. The colors I used are: cobalt blue for the drip outlines, burnt sienna, creamy butter yellow, and a salmon reddish-pink.

The (image) size is: 11x14", but it is matted to a 16x20" sized white mat (a very convenient standard size for framing).

It is painted in acrylics on 130 lb. watercolor paper, and the colors are VERY vivid, just like you see in the pic. The final image gives the effect of watercolor, but it's actually diluted acrylics, and I really like the way the colors seem to "overlap" and mingle with each other here.

There is such a strong feeling of dynamic movement in this piece, and the drips/splash effect really accentuates that. There is one teardrop shaped drip outside the design, which I think gives it a very modern, and clean look.

I signed on the back so owner can hang either vertically or horizontally; whichever they prefer.

I show closeups for detail here, and I also include a picture of the painting matted, as it will come to you matted. There is also a thick foamcore backing for protection in shipping.
