Soooo...  my still life is inspired by the nice, simple, light and clean stills like I said in Heathers challenge discussion thread.  this is a bowl of olives.  I had to get a little creative with improvising (is that how you spell it?  you know what... I don't care!)   as I didn't like my original background.  I think I'm going to do this in oils. . . any basics on reflections or glazing or layers for depth or anything of the sort that you'd like to throw in here before I actually put paint on this sucker...  BE MY GUEST!!!  I usually paint mid-tones and then punch it up and down from there, but I'm looking for some new tricks.

Okay, so I decided to go Grisaille on this thing.  The yellow bled through, which ticked me off, but I decided to just work with as though it were a part of my genius.  I still have more to complete, but I am sleeeepy.

Gee, I like this the way it is.  Any chance you can copy it and go on?  It looks like a bowl of faces.

This is great!

1st layer done.  I'm going to seal the sucker now.  Pencil might have been a smarter sketch choice for grisaille.

this is turning out great, Lisa....what do you mean about pencil being maybe a better choice for underpainting? isn't this oil paint?
