snowflake Earring more designs

so how do they look I was thinking of mounting a blue sapphire or a small diamond in center of Snowflake.

They look gorgeous.  A saphire would be fine, but I think they do just fine without anything more fancy.  I like plain metal.

LOVE them! I would like the sapphire, though they are beautiful as is. How big are they?

Nevermind....went and checked. 1 3/4 is a great size....big enough but not TOO big.

Thanks guys (girls) I will be working on some different styles today of earings . will make another pair of these and many varations .
 
If you see any you would like to see made point it out and I will try to move it to the front of my work .

Simon & Garfunkel earrings"The Sound of Silence"  made with sterling silver mount and pink mother of pearl skulls with red oil paint accents.
The size is 19 mm across 6 mm deep or 3/4 inch across by 1/5 inch thick.
Total Weight 7.2 grams, or about 3.6 grams each.


I remember all the words, sounds and laughter of those who I have Known with such clarity humor and warmth and still it pains me to hear them not.

Carolyn I redid the snowflake design this one I used  bright garnets as they looked more festive than blue saphires I was thinking about using  and added a fresh watter pearl

Happy you liked my sketches Lauren an Muriel I dodle some Ideas very basic ,others I color in to get a better Idea then hammer and cut and change a little more If I dont like How it is working .

Thanks Sam Snowflakes and Skulls It what is selling and lets me get creative

This one is called the "dead of winter" It is 1 3/4 inch across It has mother of pearl skull wirh sapphire eyes and a black opal in the bail set atop a snowflake made of crosses

Oh for fun.  I'd make a pair of each.  How's that for an answer.  Just yesterday I was pounding on some metal to make earrings like the first top row left.  I've been wearing a pair just like it in silver base metal since around 1975 or 80, I wear them the most of all my earrings since then.  I still wear them at least once or twice a week!

I just finished my little beginners class today from the semester and enjoyed it.  I sure learned a lot but but the tip of the big olde iceberg!

Thanks Carolyn and Steph will try to a set  do them next .I  Did the Dead of winter frost ring It has a rainbow moonstone geting harder to get that stone . and 14 k gold snowflakes with a purple black patina on the background.
