Hey, I don't know how I didn't see this thread. I clicked on the links up above, and I didn't see shredded paper collages... so I'm a little confused. Am I looking at the right links? Are these the illustrations that you intended to show? But, I might be able to offer a perspective here as well. I am, by trade, a preschool teacher. I work as a Early Childhood literacy instructor for the US Govt right now, and I teach a college level Children's Literature course. So working with children's literature is my career. It's such a competitive field now that its hard to find resources online about illustrating. All you find are books for sale. I found the following article online. It is pretty good, I think. You could choose a line from a children's book, and illustrate it and then post it in the Critiques section here. :) Then you can get feedback on your art process as well as how closely it connects to the actual literature content. Just an idea.
