That reminds me of a funny....the paint technique for stained glass called grisaille, where just black decorative patterns were painted on clear, (similar to some of the pieces in this window), started because the monks found that the beautiful figural windows led to wandering and even impure thoughts when the brothers were supposed to be listening to the sermons or contemplating God. This is the actual window that needs repaired....you can't really see in the photo, but 3 of the central diamonds and probably 15 of the smaller border pieces are broken up or replaced with non-matching glass. I'll do the paint work then send it on to another guy to take it apart and put it back together.
