Status: online 		Finished these up yesterday and am still ambiguous about them.....ah well! They are 9.5"x14" ea and incorporate airbrushed pieces, traditional sticklighted enameling and fused glass for the pattern on the drape pieces.

Status: online 		Hi John! No...these are "just because" and up on Etsy. The next commission piece I have to do is repair painting for a 150 year old church window. Kinda tedious stuff. Pays well, though! I bid an outrageous amount 'cause I didn't want to do it, and they said OK.

There was a church I used to go to in Boston... and I would sit there through the service and stare at the stained glass windows... but they had scenes more like the first two pieces you showed.  I bet that would take a long time. 

Is that what they want the window to look like?

Status: online 		That reminds me of a funny....the paint technique for stained glass called grisaille, where just black decorative patterns were painted on clear, (similar to some of the pieces in this window), started because the monks found that the beautiful figural windows led to wandering and even impure thoughts when the brothers were supposed to be listening to the sermons or contemplating God.

This is the actual window that needs repaired....you can't really see in the photo, but 3 of the central diamonds and probably 15 of the smaller border pieces are broken up or replaced with non-matching glass. I'll do the paint work then send it on to another guy to take it apart and put it back together.

Funny, too....I did the same thing at church as a kid, and our windows weren't even all that interesting! I was a goner when I went to the big Catholic churches with friends! And now....fuhgeddaboudit! I can't even pretend to pay attention!

Speaking of churches, I grew up attending a protestant church.  I never went into a Catholic church until I was in college, and I remember being so surprised by all the decoration that it almost seemed sinful to me LOL!
