Hi....tomorrow will be a week since voting ended for this exhibit. Were there any results, or is the problem that only two of us entered? I understand that is very few people to enter.

Carolyn

C it has been this way for awhile now, I have commented on it numerous times to no avail. Never get an answer. I am starting to feel like not entering any of them anymore as it drives me absolutely freekin bananas and triggers my OCD when waiting for the results. I just don't get it, can it be that hard? sorry guess I am in a bit of a snit. I am glad someone else asked!

Well, hopefully we will hear from Amie. Maybe it is hard to get it posted, I know they are busy. Or, maybe it can be set to happen automatically, somehow? Well, let's see what happens.

With only two artists and three entries, as well as a three-way tie, we aren't awarding a winner.

That said, we're retooling how shows will be working in the future. Can't share the details until they're more firm.

I respect your frustration and thank you for your patience--and your regular participation.

Here is how I see it. You have an Art Exibit, prize money you have stated you are going to award of $100 to the winner. People enter knowing this. I can understand if this has never happened before but it has at least twice that I know of. One you handled by not making the announcement and explaining why. In the second instance there was at tie I believe between CES and myself and you spilt the award between us and announced us both as winners. Now we have this. And let me tell you why I am upset, I avoid adding more than one entry in these contest because I am aware that by doing so, you can split your vote and forfeit what otherwise might have been a win. So why did I do it this time because their were only 2 entries, that looks bad. I enjoy these contests and often they cause me to stretch and grow as an artist. So what are we as entrants left with? I have two pieces of art now pulled from possiblities of listing again in future contests Carolyn is left with one. What is more we essentially are being penalized for for participating in the contest at all. And finally I feel the need to apologize to Carolyn for having split the vote in the first place. This is not a positive, nor encouraging end game. And think you can do better.

Interesting exchange. I feel bad for not entering in so long and not even looking or voting anymore. I've had so many other things on my mind.
Those of us who remain here can and should do better. I am looking forward to the changes.

Right now, we're not paying show winners. Haven't been able to for months, nor have we stated in any recent prospectus, including Courage, that a cash prize world be awarded. We can't afford it. Yes, it sucks. But it is what it is.

I'd be happy to discuss this later. Right now, stick at hospital with my grandmother who just had a stroke.

Also, I'd be happy to remove your entries from this show so you have the leisure to re-enter something else if you chose to.

Oh, I am sorry about your grandmother, Amie. I hope she is doing ok.

No, you don't need to take mine out of the show, but thank you for offering. I think my only concern is that I would have liked to know this sooner....but now that I know, I understand. If the votes were balanced then there is no Members Choice. I get that. I hope the changes you are making spark more interest in the future than the few people that have been entering. I did not realize there was no prize, but I did wonder how much of a hardship that was for you guys. It makes the exhibit even more fun to enter, but I can imagine it was a strain. So, we move on and look to future exhibits and seeing what the future holds.

I am glad you answered here and now we know.

Would have been nice to know that up front. I think a formal annoucement should been written right in the prospectus. Especially when the one word themes are not tightly structured but open to interpretation. On the same note the prospectuses have been late in initial appearances along with final voting results. BTW I still would like to know why that is as I have never received an answer.

Let me clear here also. I am angry (about all of the above) but it is not the award money that upsets me. It is the vagueness and avoidance, the lack of response to some of my questions anda forthcoming explanation informming me the rules and awards have changed. I don't like feeling duped or left in the dark. I, like everyone else work hard on my art, I am careful and vigilant when I pick out or create art for any show paid or not. I try to keep it on point in design and description and I expect to know how it did in the scheme of things in a timely manner. I am aware that as a lifetime member I no longer contribute to your bottom line finacially but that was the deal you made and I agreed to way back when and I am still a member and have a lot at stake here. The last thing I want is EBSQ to cease to exist. My entire portfolio is represented in it's pages. I have art posted here that I have no other copies of due to computer failures ect. In the last year I have seen things slipping, dropping off and let go with no explanation it makes me uneasy, all of which could have been avoided had you dealt with these issues directly. I do not expect to get all up in your business, but I do need to know the things that affect me directly.

Now that I have said my piece I am prepared to forgive forget, and move on with the hope that in the future you are more direct, upfront and non evasive in these matters.

There are serious things going on behind the scenes that I'm not at liberty to discuss publicly.

And yes, my grandmother is doing better. They're currently calling it a mini-stroke, but we're awaiting further test results and a consult with a neurologist.

I have gathered as much. I ma sorry about your grandmother, we are going through the exact same thing with my MIL. It is not easy. I hope things settle down for both her and you. I wish your grandmother all the best and a quick and complete recovery.

I value EBSQ I think you know that, I have trouble operating in a vacuum is all.
