What about finding a nice neutral grey - then maybe the flash won't over compensate for all the black?

These photos are light years ahead of your others - I'm glad this is working beter for you!!!

Yep, that was my thought too and I happen to have some fake grey suede - I'm going to give it a try as soon as I recover from the long drive over and back to the printers.

Need to also get back to organizing the craft room BUT I got my needle felting book today so I am for certain going to be reading that and maybe no no no, I must clean and organize (oh major struggle)

Okay - the cloth needs to be ironed and have a better way to be secured but this is the grey background

I think that shows off the colors in the pin very well!!

Now I just have to get the wrinkles out and figure out a better way to fasten the fabric into the box - paper ends up being self supporting but this stuff falls down! :) lol!

Probably need to make up tiny polyclay easels - the bent cardboard that I have been using doesn't always stay just right.

ALSO need to do a test photo of the back too - most of the backs are grey so that might pose a problem.

Oh, yes, I think this grey color does look the best.  It doesn't compete with the colors and shows off will without over exposure.  Nice job!

ironed the cloth and think I got it into the light box okay -

The back of the pin - resting on some of the same fabric crumpled.

A different pin:

Required shooting from a different angle in order to get the easel to disappear - think I managed that in this shot, I didn't in the one I will post next.

Yet another pin - easel is showing - so that's a problem I need to solve - not really liking my cardboard easels. Need to figure out what shape I should make in polyclay - and make them grey - that should help.

The pin backs rest on the top of the easel. The vast majority of my pins are of similar size but I have a bunch that are a bit different.

Looks like this lightbox set up will work once I solve the problems with the easels.

Thnx!!! :) :)

I'm going to be making polyclay easels this morning - have to figure out the best way to make them so they'll support but not show. Once I solve that problem I should be able to start taking real photos - numbering pins and getting them listed! YAY!! :)

and I might clean/organize a bit too - LOL!!!!

Here are the easels and the small cat I'm working on - he's pretty ratty at this point! lol!!

Different easels for different size or shaped pins. The easel on the right is for triangular pendants I've made.
Nothing special but they do the job! :)

I have pendants. I just haven't photographed any of them - they're pretty much like the triangular pins.
