I received an email from Fine Art America. I am not very active there, all I have done is sign up and I think I uploaded one image. So, that is why I don't know my way around very well and I am hoping someone who uses FAA can help me out. In the email it said they now offer Metal Prints and I wanted to price them. I would like to put an image on one and see what it is like....however, no matter how much I searched I just could not find where you could load up an image and have it printed on Metal. I found where others are selling those prints, but no mention of doing it yourself. I uploaded an image thinking it would give me the option that way, but it did not. Gave me a lot of other ways to print an image, but no metal print.

Does anyone know how to do this on FAA?? THANKS!!!

C

Carolyn, do you think you could copy the email here? I'll do a little poking around too. I try to upload there semi-regularly but I don't read their emails often enough.

Carolyn I see Metal Prints!

http://fineartamerica.com/featured/power-source-amanda-makepeace.html

The link is for my artwork Power Source. On the right, next to the image, there are different buying options. Metal Prints is the last one, starting at $70.

I see. INteresting, I did not get that when I uploaded my image. Maybe it has changed. I will have to try again.

I tried to copy the email, but it had pictures in it and lots of other stuff and didn't copy right. Anyway, we seem to have found them. I wonder if I can afford them. It sure is an interesting concept.

OH, and I think your Power Source would look good printed that way!!

I am a little frustrated. I keep trying to get what you did and I can't. When I upload an image to create my own piece it gives me this page, which you see does not have metal prints. Why do they make this so hard? I feel like a complete dork!! HEre is what I get...

What am I doing wrong? Can you tell?

When I checked yesterday, I wasn't able to get the metal prints to come up for my image. It is possible that this new feature/product hasn't been rolled out for everyone so far.

Years ago a good friend of the family (an architect) had some of his watercolors reproduced on metal. I don't know if FAA is using the same sort of process or not. My mom had one of his works and was able to hang it in the garden (she had a private courtyard in her condo). I always thought that was really nice to be able to hang a painting outdoors and not have to worry about the elements.

I think you're right about Power Source--it would look amazing like this. Not in my budget unless I saved. Maybe I will later in the year.

I think Jeanne, could be right. Sometimes new features will be rolled out.

Didn't you say you had one item in your gallery at FAA? What's the link to your profile, Carolyn?

I don't have many images on FAA, Amanda....and I am not very good at getting around over there. Here is what I think you mean by my profile page.....I thought I had one image there, but can't seem to find even that.

http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/carolyn-schiffhouer.html

In the email they said they were rolling out Metal prints for ALL members of FAA. I got the feeling that it was not something that was coming out piecemeal...but was up and totally operational.

According to FAA you haven't uploading any images.

Are you keeping them private? Maybe you are missing a step.

I uploaded one and there was all this information to fill in. All I want to know is the price of a metal print (and I probably can't afford it anyway). Why is this such a mystery there. Do I need to upload a photo and put in all that inforation before they will let me see the metal prints?? I guess that is probably it. I will pick something out and load it.

Carolyn, yes. Filling in all that information puts the image in your gallery for you and other people to purchase. It's not uploaded until you go through all the steps and click submit.
