Oh Vicky, the Star Trek characters sound adorable.

Well, that's a shame about the marker experiment. I hope they are better now too since I use them a lot, especially for backgrounds. Can you try spraying one with just a regular finish of some type? I would be interested if that makes a difference.

Maybe some colors do better than others. Also, you ordered a different brand right? I wonder if they will do better. Thanks for experimenting.

Thanks Alma! Well, I guess I am going to have to think about going back and spraying everything I have with marker and pencil (sigh).

Here is one I did entirely in oil pencils, (well, except for the Prismacolor markers in the background), so it's not supposed to have any wax bloom or dulling problems. I dug out some old Walnut Hollows and used my new Faber Castell's too.

This one is called "The Cloud, Before Internet"...(-:

I just had to add:

lol This is Cat on a Hot tin roof, while processing this to low res I had a happy accident. You tell me which you think I should go with for selling online.

Sherry, I ordered prismacolors, same as what I used in my experiment.

Alma, I prefer the blue one, but for selling online you'd need to use the one that matches the original, right? Of did I not understand your question?

Oh sorry! I'd forgotten that you sell a lot of prints. You really could do sell both, although I do like the blue one more, probably because it's a little different.

You know, I think you could sell both of them. They both have great qualities on their own.

Are we still talking about making this a weekly or monthly "Face A Day"?

This one seems to be getting kind of cumbersome...

I don't want cumbersome, that is why I called it Face The Day. It is whenever you have something. I am not doing every day wouldn't even be possible!

BTW Sherrie I googled Pop surrealism art yesterday and yours was the first image listed on page one. Way to go!

Oh no, no! I didn't mean that frequently.

That would take over my life like you said in the beginning. I don't know how those "Image A Day" people do it...lol.

Well, thanks for the congrats.

But...I imagine if I'm popping up under a search for Pop Surealism Art it''s probably because I used that for one of the tags on some of my artwork.

But hey, I'll enjoy it for whatever reason it popped up.

I have been going through a digital painting techniques book tutorial. I broke it down to one feature at a time which strangely enough I found easier. I thought that I would show this weeks work.

What do you get when you combine the following:

Some people prefer 2 of ingredient 3, so add to taste!

Finished product:

This is great, Alma!! You drew that digitally? Wow.....most impressive. I am excited to see you trying more and more digital. It is fun to see what you come up with. What is the book you are using??

It is all digitally drawn. I am using Master Collection: Volume 1 "Digital Painting Techniques.I sued to do all my art work digitally but it destroyed my neck. Now that It is woreless it is much easier on me. Also I don't know if it is the new drawing tablet I have a bamboo rather than wacom but I actually have much better control and cAn even sign my artwork right from the tablet! Anyhow, I am now back to where i started which is how do you valuate digital? you for sure know what that is like! it is just you can do so mjuch more digitally than you can tablet and colorpencil, paint or whatever.

That is exciting. I am glad you are doing so well with the tablet. I have to admit that my tablet and I don't get along very well and I have hardly used it. It is a shame really that I don't. I just can't get the feel of the pen. I am so impressed with what you have done!!

That book sounds like it has really spoken to you and gotten you going!

Trying to figure out the value of digital work is hard....and so many people think it is a non-art and that is so upsetting. Personally, I just look at the final image. Is it good, do I like it, does it work? Then I decide it is of value and price from there. I don't think it matters how you got there as much as what you have ended up with.

This is the same advice that my aunt Ruthie gave me many years ago...it is a good reminder, as she and you were very wise!!!
