Here is prospectus for the Asteraceae (daisy family) show:

"Show us your favourite flowers from the daisy family, Asteraceae. The only caveat? It needs to be a real flower, not an artist's version of a daisy".

=============

So does that mean photos only of real ones, or does it mean no abstract flowers, or does it mean realism?

Thanks,
Sherry

Yeah I was wondering about this myself -- thanks for bringing it up, Sherry. I actually entered the show last night, but then withdrew because I wasn't sure whether my piece would be considered eligible....

I can be somewhat abstract, but it has to be an abstraction of an actual member of the asteraceae family. It can't be a red middle and a bunch of blue petals if no such flower exists in nature.

Ok, I see. It needs to be one that actually exists in nature.....no daisy design with calico petals, ha?!!

In a nutshell, yeah, lol. We included that bit of the rule because the daisy is the first flower most children represent in their own cartoony way. Y'all are artists and I know you can do better than that.

As for me, I actually have a mixed media piece that incorporated pressed flowers, so mine will be with a "real" flower in every sense of the word! ;)

Well aware of Centaurea montana (I have a ton in my garden, lol) but as you'll note, they're a lot more interesting than a standard red dot with simple blue petals that my 7-year-old draws ;)

Looking forward to your entry!
