Are there plans to make image sizes larger when viewing in portfolio and monthly shows?

Being unable to experience an image (or part of it) in full resolution is often a disservice to the artist whose image contains texture and/or other details which are only visible in full resolution or full screen.

The option exists at several other art sites such as FAA or Imagekind and it is extremely helpful in being able to examine and appreciate the artwork in "close up" view, and would certainly play a part in judging the artwork...at least it would for me...

Don't know how anyone else feels about this, but thought I would toss out the topic for discussion/feedback.

We previously offered a larger view and discontinued it at the request of several members who were concerned about piracy. Artists are welcome to include detail shots which can be zoomed on in addition to their primary image which displays at what we feel is a generous 650 x 650 maximum pixel size.

Thanks for your feedback!

I wasn't aware that clicking on the detail image made it larger. I always thought that whatever size was shown as a portion of the original image, was the largest that one could see. However, in checking out various images with details, sometimes the detailed image isn't even as large as the original; in other cases it is a bit larger but not appreciably so. Perhaps some prior adjustment in PS or whatever program one is using can render a detailed image that will show up nicely...will have to work on that for the future.

Some people upload purposely small images. Other people with detail images had their images there prior to the site code changing, so they're hardcoded as smaller. But newer detail image uploads can be enlarged via shadowbox when clicked. The quality of the jpeg is entirely up to you.

My detail images seem to be large to me. I think it depends on what size you upload into the detail image also. Some people might not know about how it enlarges when you click on it and be uploading smaller images. I have been putting "click to enlarge" or whatever on my detail image because I figured a lot of people don't know it.
