Did you ever plan an art project far in advance? Everything is going smoothly and according to that plan, but then OOPS! Something alters your well planned execution of said project. Your disappointed at first, but the ending result is totally unexpected and very gratifying?

Simon wants to see your best "mistakes"!  This OOPS! moment of mine came to be from my use of a tree instead of a sturdy tripod, I slipped while photographing a waterfall.

All media welcome, up to five entries each. Show will run till next Wednesday the 21st.

Here's an oops of mine.  The plan was for this to be an autumn landscape, but there was nothing very interesting about it, and there was a lack of cohesion to it.  I changed it by a rubbing a layer of titanium white over the entire painting to soften the colors and adding falling snow.

eta....OOPS!  no picture!

This was supposed to be a stark white background...I'd been doing a lot of pieces using the same lighting and same setting.

While painting along (this one is small, so I was holding it in my lap to paint) I managed to drop my paints (reds, yellows, etc) right onto the still wet white paint... so I scraped some off, and blended the rest. The resulting soft pinks wound up adding so much to the image, I kept it. An accident in every sense. I don't think I even get credit for this piece because of it!

You would think with only two entries Simon's job of picking a winner would be easy, but that's not the case. Beth and Aimee both responded with art that captured the creativity I was looking for caused by an " OOPS " moment. Both pieces are extreamly well done and in their own way very unique works of art.

Simon has gone back and forth on this, but declairs Beth's Wintery landscape to be the winner!

Great choice.  It would have been hard since both were really nice and perfectly fit the category!
