I apologize for being a little dense and needing a personal explanation. :(

Can someone explain the two tone show? I think I'm not getting the idea of two tones. If I draw something with just one color of paint, so that I have just the color of the paint and then the color of the canvas, is that a two tone piece? Are pieces with silhouettes examples of two tone pieces? Is a charcoal or pencil sketch a two tone piece?

Yes, black and white (or grey and white) are certainly examples of two tones. And if you're letting canvas show thru, that's one of your tones. But it certainly isn't limited to just black and white, otherwise we would have had a straight black and white show again. Think a yellow background with a vibrant green vector drawing over it. Or something rendered entirely in pink and red.

Hope that makes some sort of sense to you. And hang in there for Melissa to get home from the Polish festival so she can better clarify if need be.
