gillie -> One quick note about Ripped Off art eligibility (7/27/2009 11:55:37 AM)

We've had a case this year where a rip off between artists A & B was ripped off as a new rip off between artists B & C with the permission of artist B *BUT* without the permission of artist A. And while there was never specifically a rule stating ripped off work in one's portfolio was off limits, and while we're allowing said rip-of-a-rip to stay in this year's show, in the future, no rip offs of rip offs will be allowed without the full knowledge and permission of ALL the artists involved in the process. The Ripped Off event is supposed to be a great way to get to know your fellow artists and have some fun playing with someone else's art with full-permission to do so. The last thing we want is our artists to feel, well, ripped off.

This new rule is unofficially in effect for the remainder of the 2009 Ripped Off show and will become official for next year's event.

I just thought of something in this case - they wouldn't even be able to swap - if A & B swapped pieces, then B wouldn't have anything to swap with C. Not that everyone swaps, but I think most people do. Of course that's up to them anyway, just an observation!

Vicky, you swap the rip, not the piece you ripped from. The same thing happened to me last year. My partner ripped the rip I had done of Kris's work the year before. But then she wanted to sell it rather than swap with me, which was fine. I gave my piece to my granddaughter who loves horses! [:D]

Oh you're right, never mind me I just confused myself, lol. Too early I guess!
