Ok, she's not super detailed, I made her for learning... so far, I had fun, although I nearly abandoned her about twice. Lint! Ugh!

She's about 6-7 inches, stem to stern. I still have to make wings for her, that will be tomorrow's project. I probably should have finished painting her before I wigged her, but I couldn't wait. I'll be more patient next time. :)

I know she has some problems, but I think for a learning project, it turned out nice!

I think you did a fantastic job, especially if you're still learning!

She looks great!  I've actually been getting my doll making supplies out lately too.  I'm going to start one  here soon.  Keep us posted with photos!  I love to see other dollmakers's work.

Thanks everyone! I started today on another doll; going for a little more detail this time, sitting pose. If she gets to a vaguely presentable phase tonight, I'll post a new picture.

I had no idea I did dollmaking, either, but I became kind of fascinated with it, so I thought I'd give it a try.

Here's my 1st one again, with some make up and what not. It's acrylic paint... waiting to see if I have any skill at this before I invest in heat-set oils.

And here's the one I'm working on now, trying for a more detailed approach. (I left a lot of things "undid" on the first one... lumpy arms, chunky fingers, etc).

Nice work. I have always wanted to do dolls, but I realize that I have no ability in that direction!

Ok, it's stupid fun. I have almost finished out the first fairy and her base.. it's nice to do one to completion even if I am not totally satisfied with it. My imagination has been running wild, making up the stories of these characters and why they wear what they do, what the little stuff I'm using means... it's like getting to play again after the somewhat rigid world of painting pixel art and doing linocuts. When the base is done to my satisfaction, I'll update again.
