Yeah, it's exactly like that. Only completely different.
I've enjoyed just about as much of this as I can stand.

Thank you guys

Hey that was a fun challenge with the glass in it. I am glad I did it because I really enjoyed painting glass and never knew I would.

Nice job everyone - we still life artists have to stick together since there are so few of us

I wish you had done this challenge Lauren - I miss your paintings. When I was at the Indiana house I was looking at the little duck toy that you did that is in alissa's bathroom (It matches the striped towels perfectly) I was thinking about where I was going to put that in our new home once that place sells and thinking I wish I had more of your work.

Thank you Carolyn I think at some point we should do a challenge on the still life thing where we all do a still life from the same photo like on that "different strokes" thing that pat introduced us to. Would that be fun to see what each person did with the same thing?

Thanks Jeanne

I had been thinking how there are really not many opportunities for still life work in the monthly shows - except for Heather took advantage of the "balance" theme for this last month's show to put in some of her stacked polish pottery. I think when it comes to suggestion time for this next year in October or so we need to add some ideas that would work for still life themes like "Spheres" or "done in the style of the masters" or some other kind of ambiguous theme that would include many but not be a complete stretch for us to get still life work entered into. Maybe like how we had been doing for the etsy monthly themes that sometimes it is just a color so still life folk can get in some.

But in the meantime how about everyone who is interested submit a couple of reference shots for a still life and then Heather can run a poll on them to decide which shot for us to all work from?

We could really take our time on it and have the ref shots to be submitted by a month from now and maybe give us a few months to have the challenge. It would be like a mass rip
