Status: offline 		Has anyone here used caseins? I was poking around the ASW website (browsing art supply catalogs & websites is one of my favorite pastimes) & read a little about them, I'm just curious as to how they handle, how fast they dry, etc. For some reason I'm envisioning gouache but I really don't know. They did say that they're good to use under oils.

Status: online 		I remember reading about caseins when I was young(way back when)....but I never used them....I think acrylics might have taken their place?

Status: offline 		I don't know, all I know is that they're milk based, dry quickly & provide a good surface for underpainting for oils. I'd be interested in trying a sample set but I bet I wouldn't really like them.

Status: online 		I think they are pretty much thought of as an old fashioned media that isn't needed anymore...but that's just my take on it
