All great work! I found a flower shot. This one was from MA on the most recent trip there.

Nice lemon, Sam, very sour looking!
Kevin and Lisa, thuds on those water shots, both amazing in their own way. Get used to people looking at you funny, that's how you get the best photos!
Steph, another one of those funny-looking lifeboats! Very nice shots, I always love your ship photos.
Fun, C. I've done that.
Olga, that is gorgeous! Look at all the little rootlets coming off the stem. The colors are great too. Love that.
Nice flower, Robin. Great angle, you can see on all the other blossoms, it gives it nice depth. I bet Kris will want to paint that.

Here's a yucca with a dead flower and some clouds over Mt Charleston, taken yesterday near the Trout Canyon road.

Ha! Peeps have looked at me funny for years before I had my camera, It's just an extra reason to be odd! My family and friends will no longer go on photo shoots with me though, they don't want to be weird by assosiation I guess I agree with the best photo's though most people are not willing to lay down on a bridge to "get the shot" (ok a bit dramatic, it was a foot bridge)

Olga excellent macro.

Muriel, *thud* I love that image. Perfectly shot with great depth. I really like the little whispy thingies on the plant. You must have a good camera

Heres some kind of Yucca flower at San Diego Old Town State Park. This Yucca was over 15 feet high, and the "flower" was bigger than my head! I wish there was something in the photo for reference to see how imense this plant was...

I'm looked at funny all the time when I have my camera, glad I'm not the only one! I remember finding this awsom old 50's truck parked on the road, well I wanted a shot of it from the lower front bumper corner up... I  laid down on the sidewalk, swung my legs partialy under the truck to get in the right position, and got some great pics....The owner of the truck saw me "under" his truck and came out yellin and screaming! Well, after 45 min of heated yelling and acusing me of "messin with his truck"  he grabbed my camera to see what "Art Pictures" I was talking about. Thats how I sold my first picture!!!! (Only one to date that I'v sold). He loved the pics I took and wanted a 24x16 for his garage! Since it was HIS truck, I told him how much printing would be (I was going to give to him at cost). He said "Hell no, thats too cheap, you need to make $$ for your talent" and shoved $100 bucks at me.

So make them look at you funny!! It might draw the best attention you could recieve!!!!!!

((Oh, and I too have friends who refuse to go anywhere with me when I have my camera. Its the curse of being an artist! LOL))

Muriel, I love the clouds and sky in that pic, awsome background for the Yucca.

Was that taken on the old "Spam and Trout Canyon Road"?

Century plants are agaves. This is a Mojave Yucca (or maybe a Banana Yucca), Joe's is probably a Torrey Yucca from the Chihuahuan desert since it's very tall and has the same kind of flower. Soaptree Yuccas are also tall, but the flower looks different. www.flickr.com/photos/murielareno/2477633302/in/set-72157600374770996/
The Joshua Tree is also a yucca.
Thanks, everyone!

Hi Robin, I was so overtaken by the yucca plant that I forgot to tell you how much I love hibiscus. Great shot, color is fantastic and the focus is perfect.

Joe cool, cool, cool perspective on the huge yucca, as always I dig the brilliant blue of the sky

Thanks, Lisa. I might use it for an upcoming repousse piece.

Yeah, the whole point of owning a house was to have some place to work. I actually worked today. On art. Repousse.
