Alright, here's mine for the day, no pears  but I have always loved this shot, taken pulled off the road on the way up the mountain to Idlewild, Ca.

p.s. for Carolyn

so is the new vacuum a Dirt Devil??  It is good?  I need a new vacuum because I have a bagless one........suction is great, but cleaning it is awful.......

I just noticed this in last week's thread. Yes, I got a Dirt Devil Vibe 091020V. I got a good deal on amazon with a fairly low shipping rate. It is so powerful and I love having a bag again. The bagless are awful to deal with...so messy and dusty. It is a bit heavy and noisy, but that doesn't bother me.

(sorry for the hijack!)

Kevin is the punniest guy around (teeheee)!!!!   (((Kevin))).  You are all so fun, funny and wonderful to take the time to show us such wonderful and inspiring photos!  This playing along has been great fun!  I mean, who else but Sam can make a simple ordinary object such as a naill look so great!

Joe!   LOVE that shot!!!  The incredible blue sky lends so much to the landscape!

Well I went shooting today but the time of day was what often leads me to not shoot at all.  The glare from the sun!  I am familiar with filters but none are fitted to my specific camera, I don't think, although I saw someone make some kind of makeshift filter once.  There is a threaded lens on my camera so if anyone has any hints, plese do tell...I will go start a thread about this photo right now....

This is the Ohara Peace Bell.  it was donated by Ohara Japan, which is a sister city to Duluth and sits off in a corner of one of my favorite parks in the city.  I stumbled upon it this afternoon wondering what it was and how it got here since I have never heard of it before today!  I'm still the worlds best tourguide for Duluth and environs you will ever find!

Of course I rang the bell with the long pole!

Now I'm off to post a new thread asking questions of how I can repair the washout in the green leaves with photoshop without wrecking the rest of the shot.

Steph, it's still a great image, I want to ring the bell.  Kevin..yep the shadows are wonderful. I love the desk against the blues.

This hydrant thought it could get away from me and hide behind the trees, nope. I see them all.

Just stopping by to view all the wonderful images.  What a great group of pictures!

Kevin, I love Desk/hydrant/sign Wednesdays!  Your desk looks like it is asking permission to join the party.

Lisa your Hydrant is great...it looks like it is snooping on the party!

So, Steph, where is your sign??  :)

Carolyn

Sam, that's a comfy-looking cat! Great colors in that picture! And back to your minimalist self, very interesting. I like your eye for the seemingly insignificant.
Nice pears, Lisa and Kevin! Punny! Very nice Wednesday shots as well, you two!
Joe, that is just beautiful. Unusual composition, but it works great!
Steph, that bell is wonderful, and I love the red! I posted in your Photoshop thread, hope it helps.
The sign is great, those are so much fun. Wednesday is sign day as well as desk day and hydrant day, I almost forgot...
So, here's a sign...

Great desk/hydrant and signs so far. Here is mine, a neon sign for The Famouse "Lee Hotel" in Yuma Az. Famouse as one of the most haunted places in Arizona!! (Just don't go in and ask to do ghost hunting, the owners don't like the "haunted" reputation and try to deny it).

I thought the blured lines of the neon sign added to the creepy feel for the "old haunt".

Muriel great sign the textures of concrete trees and grass make it so interesting. Natural elements meet man made. Love it.
Joe you are right, that is creepy, but in the best possible way

Kevin IS punny! And so is Lisa!

Thanks everyone. Oh Kevin!!!!! "Nailed it" HA!

Nice shot Steph. Love the desk at the table Kevin. Cute! I love your shy fire hydrant Lisa! The slight angle does make it look like it's trying to hide! Nice sign Steph! Cool sign Muriel. I like the design. Great shot Joe. Love the motion blur!

I noticed this empty snail shell this afternoon when I went out to get the mail....
