I just found these at my local art store. They're archival watercolors in metallic sheens. I thought they would not react the same way regular watercolors do but they seem to blend right in and still leave a sheen.

Can anyone share some works done with these?

I love the metalics! I like to use them to make sparkley polkadots in the backgrounds of some of my paintings. I've only used Daniel Smith brand.[image][/image]

I haven't ever tried the metalic watercolors.....will have to give it a look. Your piece is wonderful...but from the photo it is hard to see the glaze that the metalic gives the piece. I have used a Krylon Gold marker kind of thing....I am not sure just how long the life span is of the Gold marker, but the effect is kind of interesting.

Yeah, it's exactly like that. Only completely different.

Beautiful work, Lollipop! I'd love to see more.
I have used metallic and iridescent acrylics for some of my abstracts and love the sheen. It's very subtle, and I would imagine the same would be true of watercolors.
Robin, open up a sketchbook and show us what you do with those new pastels! I'm not even sure what pan pastels are...

I'll have to add them to my "want" list. I've never used them, but I've bought a couple of pieces where the artists have used them and I love the sheen. It is hard to see on a computer monitor, but when you see it used on an original, it is beautiful.
