Heather, why not try making the font size on your computer larger.....I can't remember how to do that but I'm sure other will....or do control and plus and minus key, that blows up your screen in increments...much easier to see then...

Look at the top of the browser window where it says File, Edit, View, History, etc. Click on View and then go to Text Size. And there ya go... Bob's your uncle.

Also, now that the public and private forums are clearly divided, we could probably dispense with (public) after every single item in the list...

super nice clear separation public/private

indeed it is very difficult to read,

and but the navigation is for me the most difficult,
(often I used the large overview to spot some subject quickly and read it)

I tried to see when I get a larger overview,
this happens only once you are in a sub-sub-group,
this might perhaps be improved into larger when in the sub-group public or private,
so one with bad eyes would get used to use the horizontal bar to navigate

but another idea could be that the "expand all categories" would work producing a large view of the complete forum (as was before) ?

that last would be for me the ideal one

They're still there for a couple of reasons, actually. One is that the sub-forum change is quite probably not permanent (especially if I can't get Bill to change the fonts sizes for y'all any time soon). The second is that it lets you know if you arrive in that section non-organically (ie via a subscription notice or by clicking in from most recent posts) whether or not you'd be posting publicly or privately in any of your replies.

forgive how this comes out, but we're actually trying to make it MORE idiot friendly, lol.

AND YOU ARE NOT AN IDIOT. Things just look a bit...different...than they did and that takes some getting used to.

I'm working on "EBSQ For Dummies" right now and it should be published by November, just in time to have your loved ones order a copy for a Christmas gift...

While the new look is certainly streamlined and that has certain advantages - I really did like the ability to see the subject of the most recent post in each of the different forums. Now you can only see the most recent post for all of the subforums within one group.

Enough readability/scanability issues have been brought up beyond the font size that we put things back as was. You'll still find that the forums are still in a new order with a lot of little-used topics combined, but things should generally be pretty much as it was before.

Thanks for your patience during our experiement! We greatly appreciate your feedback.

Good points, Amie. I was just trying to lighten the look...
