Kris, this is a little more complex than usual. It is really looking like a great design so far. I can't wait to see color. I don't know if anyone already asked because I cheated and only looked at the pics through the thread to this point,,,are you working on this one on your "live" feed?

The beginings of the background.

It's all streaky because I paint in thin layers - for my style it makes for a smoother end product. So I will be painting SEVERAL layers of red. (we are talking at least 6) When the red is uniform then I will move on to the next step of the background.

This is the starting of the base of the background. It will have an aura effect when done.

And while waiting for the second round of red to dry I started in on the grey layers. (will prob take about 2 or three)

This is the part I really like - when it starts to come forward out of the canvas

and says "Yup here I am!!"
