Elizabeth, no waste of time, just vital learning ! it proves that you are searching all the time ! If this would not happen any more, if we could extricate this out of our world and that definitely, we would be dead.
no no you should not have left it alone, you wanted something, and that you can get straight on with your next (:-) ! the best is always the next one ! (:-)
and ... do not keep this old one ! throw it away, aristocratic mimic !

I love that!  Thanks Marie!

From the responses here I guess it's happens to everyone at one time or another.  But it's just so frustrating.

Ah well...on to bigger and better things!

Great thread....

I have pieces that I have decided to take a break from with the full intention of finishing but I never go back, or at least not yet. I have had destructive urges but I reign them in as I don't want my kids to learn that it acceptable to destroy out of frustration.... otherwise everything in my house would be in pieces... LOL

I keep abandoned works out, even hung on walls etc........ somewhere deep down I must I like to be tortured by them. I suppose it is as much about exploring myself as much as painting on a technical level. I like to take it out on a new project.

I do not know what is worse... painting badly or not at all.

Very admirable parenting Tris!    Luckily for me, my kids are grown up and on their own already, so I can do what I feel like!!

Another reason why I destroy them before I put them out with the trash is I don't want to walk into a local thrift/resale store or garage sale and find them there!  I'd have to get my own trash back!!
