It can be anywhere from about 2-4 hours, depending upon the level of detail (or difficulty I had in drawing it!).  I'm sure some have taken longer, but that isn't the norm for me.  Let's say.... 2.5 hours would be the norm. 
Seriously for me it's the drawing and thinking up stuff part that takes the longest amount of time, no matter what size painting it is!  @_@  Painting is the fun part.

Carmen I think you work very quickly, and I am really impressed !
now I am also confirmed in one thing : I also could not paint a small piece without giving exactly the same care...
.. add to this that I am not so quick...
but  : how could we survive at such prices ?...
so, at the end, I am rather lost
