difficult fractal program

i just played around and it got a bit addictive... but I still feel like the program is doing all the work.... so I don't feel like much of an artist, since I am not WRITING the code to make it happen... does that make sense? anyways I saved some and entered them anyways.

Some programs require more work from the artist than others.  I only know Apophysis and Ultrafractal.  Yes, writing the formulas would have you involved in the process more, but there is a lot to layering, coloring and tweaking for a final image.  Apophysis when you click on the triangles (along the top, in red and yellow.) The box that opens has (in the lower right hand corner) tabs for triangle, transform, variations, variables, colors and images.  This is where the control of the program is.  A lot can be done using these!

The art in fractals comes with knowing which tweaking to do to get what you want, determining what is pleasing and knowing when you've come up with a good image.

I have actually done many Apo images for which I had a preset notion of what I wanted to create.  Other times, as with any medium, serendipity presents a gift and our creative minds recognize its wonder.

cheers ruth ;D
