Because they have become so popular, it seemed like a good idea to put a few guidelines together. You will notice that these are not super strict rules but more of a framework to hang your own challenge from.

Anyone can host a challenge.

Challenge hosts are responsible for setting up the challenge and setting forth the rules/guidelines for that challenge.

Challenge hosts are responsible for keeping the challenge momentum rolling.

Prizes are only available from EBSQ for EBSQ initiated challenges, though prizes may be provided by challenge hosts at their discretion.

Challenge hosts may create and display their work in their challenge but should recuse themselves from inclusion in any voting process.

Challenges, dates and winners should be posted in the Challenge Central section of the forum. If a Challenge is media or genre specific, they should also be posted in their respective sections. Entries should also be posted in the genre/media section.

I hope that these guidelines help bring the process into focus. If you have any questions, please post them or drop me a line at edu@ebsqart.com.

Well, yes... everyone should. And Lisa's and Mary Lu's!

Man, you guys are going to be busy! Good thing the deadlines are staggered!

Make it so!

If you have questions, just let me know. You may want to look at past challenges if you need a refresher on the way most work.

Interesting, somehow I totally missed that one (Still Life Challenge).  I'm checking it out now over on the Still Life forum (will notice about it be added here as well?  plus Printmaking?) -- glad it's not too late...

In that light, I do think it will be a good idea to have this new section -- just to keep track of it all....

We can do challenges more than one time. If someone wanted to do a still life challenge, it can be done but just change the theme.

Still Life Challenge???

Patience, I should clarify that Melissa originally started this topic last year, and the still life challenge that was being spoken off happened last year as well. I simply moved the challenge guidelines to this section at the request of another member, not realizing there was dated conversation attached to the topic. Sorry for the confusion!

Ohhhhh, ok -- gotcha!  (Yep, I was confused all right!)
