Okay, I don't know how abstract this piece is but it's Neil Armstrong standing next to his Aerospace Walk of Honor Monument that I designed. I sculpted the medallion and designed and oversaw production of the granite monuments that line the blvd. Below that is the 10th anniversary program I designed for the event.

this is very impressive!!!!!!!!!! yay, for you

The monument is so impressive!  That is wonderful work......just too bad you can't sign it.......that just doesn't seem fair.  Well, great piece and you do have the memory.

Yes, do more drawings!

Carolyn

I threw all my stuff away in a series of manic fits over the years. Sometimes I grieve for the stuff, now that I am so limited in what I can do. So I am living vicariously through your closet, Diana!

oh, that's too bad, I would have liked to see your stuff, but I've done that too, just not with my art. I threw my wedding dress away from my first wedding one day many years after my divorce. I didn't know my daughter would one day wish she had it for her wedding. It was a hippie dress. not traditional.

What kind of stuff do you throw away? Wind chimes? Glass stuff?

he wanted us to start fresh, be open to new ideas and not get trapped in feeling that our work was wonderful and precious...sigh I guess he meant well...

was that back in the 70's? I remember that theory.

I guess it might work for a bunch of young students who get too attached to one style too early but, really, most artists are attached to their work. Sounds like some art teacher psychobabble of the 70's to me.

Oils and acrylics, repousse, stained glass objects, small windows, hangings, some things similar to what you do only done with altered found objects, some sculptures ... lots of oddball stuff. Tons of mosaics. A basement and attic full. I was in such distress I couldn't even fathom selling the stuff. I would borrow a friend's pickup truck and haul it to the dump. I also threw away pictures of my stained glass installations. I really hated myself back then.   Oh and my wedding dress? To the dump. A shame because it was really pretty ... it had been used in a fashion show and I got a steal on it.

Repousse is the gorgeous stuff that Robin does. Mine was only wanna-be repousse. I have one in my portfolio here that I saved.

ohh, "Copper Flame". Nice, but a little hard to see on my laptop. There's no zoom of it.

It's been a while since I've been in your portfolio. I LOVE "Crocus in the Snow" and "Fishy, fishy!" and "Bridesmaid"!!

Those are 3 of my favorites too. Yeah that's an old pic of the copper flame. I should really take a new one with a zoom. It's an old repousse too, done not long after JFK's death, the flame represents his eternal flame. Somehow it seemed sacreligious or something to throw that away. But everything else went. However, I never was or will be 1/10th as good as Robin is.

I'm still looking for pictures of the rest of the windchimes I've made. I had them on a CD and can't find the CD. They were on another computer that's now gone ... from another camera that's now gone. It will turn up one of these days.

So when are you going to empty the rest of your closet? I'm dying to see what else is in there!!!
