I too love Egon Schiele. His pieces are so expressive and they are a perfect example of the "art as a mirror" concept. He did around 250 self-portraits by the time of his death at 28 years old in 1918. His works express how he felt about himself and how he felt at particular points in his life. Indeed he was troubled, mainly due to the death of his parents at a young age. He also explored the erotic side of life at a time in Austria when that was considered very, very taboo.

WOW!! What incredible work he does!! I would love to hang some of his work in my house but then I saw the prices; way beyond my beer budget but what a total pleasure to view his work!!! I would love to be able to draw like that.
