Agreed... but then again they were too much into dead birds and hares...
And Lauren, I'm sure you could paint one of those.
Who was the old master who did those amazing drinking glasses? I can see the painting but can't think of who.

Love the pottery.. though for my personal style.. I like more modern and vibrant colors..  The painting is amazing.. but so dark..    I do have to admire the pattern work in the pottery as I am dealing with that now in my painting that I'm avoiding at the moment!

He did have a habit of putting people in his paintings though...
Have you seen "Girl with a Pearl Earring"? Did you like it? I did.

There are a lot of still life painters whose work I admire just because of their awesome technical ability.  There's one guy in a local gallery here named Yingzhao Liu.  Holy Moses, the hours he must put into his paintings!

This one is 22x16 oil

I know you mean famouse people, but come on we show out work in the public domain so I have to mention who I am familar with.

Lauren Cole and Robyn Henzel.  My favotie of Lauren's is what her avatar is was I first came on.  It was of a colorful tin watering can or something.

Any chance you can post that Lauren?  I saw it once in real life and it is stunning.

Yeah, I am a little confused as to why she hasn't been artist of the month earlier.  She joined a couple of months before me.  I guess that is  a compliment to the abilities of all the people who have been before her artist of the month.

About name recognition.  I'm not good with famous names or names I "should" know.  I tend to only be good with names of people I know as in met including those online I haven't met face to face.  And people I know are so talented also.

No this one is more recent although it is stunning also.

If you walked into your old house from the street and walked into your dining room it was propped up on the table on the left wall opposite the window.  It was the eye catcher of the room.  I think the pitcher had tole painting on it.  The top of it was blue.  You know, your old avatar.  It was about 8" x 10"?  Not very big.  But it has a lot of personality.
