the bowl of cherries one is great!

Aren't the fruit awesome? It looks like Louise liked pottery as well, like another amazing still life artist I know... Looks like Dutch pottery here (blue and white is typical Delft) but I could be wrong...

I guess I have a thing for fruit...
Look at this wonderful Bowl of Peaches by Raphaelle Peale! He was the son of Charles Willson Peale, famous for his portraits. I was a bit disappointed to learn Raphaelle was not a woman... funny spelling for a boy...

Thanks, Lisa!
Now I'm thinking of doing a similar thing in Drawing... I love Kathe Kollwitz and hardly anyone knows her... but tomorrow probably...

Those are great, Lauren! I had seen his work before, I think...
You must also be familiar with John Frederick Peto. He was a contemporary and colleague of William Harnett's.

Now here's something strange. I found a very nice breakfast scene in Peto's work online, and when you open the image, it's signed Harnett, really big, too. Hmmm...?

you know, it's funny but for a long time the only work I ever saw by Peto was very primative...guess I didn't look hard enough..

here's the one I remember...looking at it now though it's pretty darn good(understatement lol)
