Well, I'm thinking Merry - as I have not seen any cat on Ebay even close to her.

Now I'm trying to figure out what would be the most appealing way to photo her and things about presentation and yada yada.
I'd sort of like to have a theme idea planned.

I've seen a couple auctions by this lady:
http://cgi.ebay.com/OOAK-NEEDLE-FELTED-ARTIST-bear-RABBIT-BUNNIES-Miniature_W0QQitemZ280171284713QQihZ018QQcategoryZ3904QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

and she's has this whole thing going on about the nest and the mice and the orphaned beasties seeking new homes.

I'd sort of like to do something of the kind making use of my website name: Intimate Forest

If anyone has a brain storm - I'd love to hear it.

List them all!  Photo them playing on top of one (or some) of the forest floor paintings....those babies won't hurt a cured/sealed canvas!

THanks Donna!!

I was thinking how I might be able to put in one of my paintings - but the paintings are so big and they are so small - lol!!!
I'm trying to figure out an enchanted forest floor scene or something - It's like the solution is just on the edge of my brain and is refusing (so far) to come into view. Hopefully it will pop up soon!!

You think listing them all at once wouldn't be like over kill - or possibly hurt the auctions or would it improve their chances because collectors could see that I have goodly and consistant work?

I'm so confused!! LOL!!!

Has anyone use Auctiva??? They say their services are free - templates and stuffes - but how can they do that? What's the catch??

Jeanne, have you ever worked with the templates ebsq has...they are pretty nice looking....

I love the ways you've been photographing the critters with nice props, it really helps put them in an environment....

as for how many should have on auction at once, I would definately put a group on at the same time....and remember to state that in  your description...because people will look at the other ones, maybe buy more than one especially if you stress combined shipping....then they will be putting you in their "favorite sellers" and do searches for you...so keep em coming....build a good following....it really works...I know you can outsell those other felters...

Jeanne..  Have you thought about doing one of your paintings in the forest but setting up it like a still life with one of your beasties in the woods??   I know it crossed my mind to buy a beastie from you and put it in one of my paintings in a still life..

These are just soo good!!

Thanks for the feedback!!!

I'm going to go check to see if I have an proof from my giclees that would be the right size and "environment. Off and on I am still trying to put together the model of the Stratford Festival Stage and while that is a thing (the real thing that is) of very great beauty I think the model is going to be the wrong proportions for the cats. Won't know for certain until I do finsh putting it together.

I've never sold anything on Ebay - so I'm a total novice and have never used any templates or anything at all.

Have been looking around here trying to find things that might work really well as a set up.

About to head up to the craft room! ;)

This is exciting, Jeanne.  I think you will do well on ebay.  The templates here at ebsq are really nice and professional looking and a good way to start.

I think using one of your pictures would be a great idea.  They can be lost little kittens looking for their mittens who just happen to forget the search and stop and play.

Your kitties are all so cute, they should sell themselves.  I think putting several in an auction to show your consistency and what else you have to offer is a good idea, but make sure you emphasize that the auction is only for one.  It would be good if you could put up auctions for all of them as quickly as possible so people can search for more.  (but you have probably already figured out all that...)

Absolutely!  (you can bury in the text what piece the background it, too...you never know.  Dual marketing)

Those look great Jeanne! And I second (or third, or fourth) using the EBSQ templates. There isn't anything out there like them and they stand out immediately and make a statement. They look extremely professional and tailored and put all the focus on your item and your sales pitch. Good luck!

THanks Darlene!!!!

Kris is helping me - I want to keep the look of my own website.

Here is the testy/blurby stuffes that I have drafted thus farness:

The Intimate Forest
Far Far Away in the depths of the Intimate Forest live Prittens, small cats of a very charming and endearing nature. So remote is their habitate that few are aware of their existence but lately nems (humans) have been cutting down the trees and are moving ever closer to the Prittens' home. Mommet, goddess of animals, has promised to forever protect the Prittens and is using the ritual enchantment of Ebay to summon worthy rescuers to adopt and care for her precious Prittens.

This is MERRY

(insert image here)

Any very Merry she is! Out of the corner of her eye she saw it twitch and turned around and tried to catch her tail and round and round she goes in very Merry pursuit!

Merry is about 5 inches long and 3.5 inches high and 3.25 inches wide. She fits most comfortably in Mommet's hand.

Please raise your hand and take this oath: Now repeat after me:

I promise that what I am about to read I will never reveal to a Pritten. I will not convey this information in any form, written, verbal, recorded, sandscripted, hyroglyphed to a Pritten. I understand that to do so would cause the greatest of all possible harm to the Prittens and I will absolutely cause Prittens no harm!

And Mommet waves her hands and casts "Ignotus" so the Prittens cannot see or hear or read what follows:

Merry was constructed by an artist named Harlan. She is made of fine wool with glass eyes and thread and a tiny bit of polyfil as well as monofiliment for whiskers and the teeniest bit of glue to keep whiskers and eyes in place. Many long, long hours did Harlan toil at her work table needle felting Merry into existence.

But Merry does not know this. Merry believes that she is a child of Mommet, the goddess of animals, and that she lives in the Intimate Forest with her many friends. Merry believes that nightly she and her goodly friends the Pookeys (small enchanted lions) take the Tardis (surely you know of Doctor Who) to Dunkin Donuts to partake of a great feast with much merriment. Merry believes that she will always be protected by Mommet and live in the bestest of places and be the happiest of Prittens.

So Mommet and Harlan beseech you - Can you offer fair home to a Pritten? Can you love Merry and keep her safe and happy? Can you pretend to not notice when she disappears to Dunkin Donuts every night with her friends leaving an illusion in her place? Can you let her speak through you by using a pleasing voice to ask such questions as: "Does Mommet love me?" or "Should I have a Blueberry muffin or a Boston Creme Donut?"

If this you can do, Merry needs a good home! Please cast the enchantment "bidding" and rescue Merry from the encroaching nems!

And please note with care that Prittens are NOT TOYS and should not be given to or left unattended with children! Prittens have small pieces parts that are potentially dangerous to children and it would wound a Pritten sorely to cause harm to any!

(insert more images thingies here)
Other stuffes that I need to do for an auction but don't know about yada yada

Jeanne, I'm way late, as usual these days, but, all of these kitties are fabulous!  Hmmm, now, which would be my favorite??

Thank you for such a wonderful job on Theo, it's nice to have him around again.

Not to offend anyone here, but use of the term goddess will turn off a goodly amount of browsers of your auction. If Mommet could be a "protector" instead of goddess?
