I'm glad you listed Daniel Smith. I used to work for that company in Seattle. I've got to say their line of paints is the best I've ever used. For oils & block printing, I won't use anything else. Being an employee, we were asked to test the paints and give feedback. I also have to rave about the acrylics & watercolors, even though watercolor is not my medium.

It's a small company, but most of the employees are artists themselves and are one of the few companies that truly take pride in their work and product quality. I highly recommend them.

You should check out Artist & Craftsman Supply they have a pretty good cross section of supplies for all artists.

That does look like a good selection, have you ordered from them before? I see they are out of maine,,,what is their shipping and product like? The prices seem so good, it makes you wonder if the paint is fresh  Thanks for the link

I just received my order of twelve 8x10 deep canvases from MisterArt.com (for a 14-pc commission order - I bought 2 locally to get started and ordered the rest in bulk).  They shipped them in two manufactured-sealed boxes inside a larger box without inspecting them at all... *Most* of them are fine, a couple are mildly imperfect, but one... well this one you just have to see to believe... Here it is with it's problem-edge on my scanner...

I am phoning them tomorrow to see if they'll send out a single replacement rather than making me return the entire box... The curviness is only on the one edge so if they won't replace it, I'll get one more from the local store and I'm thinking I may have to paint some sort of water scene on this one and just utilize the "waves" (?).

I finally got a chance to call them today and they're sending a single canvas replacement so I won't have to mess with sending all 12 canvases back. (YAY!)

Good to see it will be replaced...I guess some people that work in some of these stores might not even know a great deal about art...some just work there coz it's trendy lol.
You guys in the U.S are lucky...there's not much in australia as far as online shopping is concerned...(my nearest physical art store is almost 3 hrs drive away! so i only order online)
I was going to order from dick blick...the prices are fantastic but the international post? ummm about $60.00 for less than 1.5kg weight? hmmmm a bit steep!
Never mind I have always been quite fond of Matisse Structure Acrylics, it's aussie made so I am in luck there...just some of the other supplies i have wanted to have a go of such as Prismacolor Markers...not available here in Aust...bought some on ebay for...$29.00 or so for 36 i think...seemed like a good deal!
